The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines, is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7,641 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions from north to south: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Best time to visit: April to early June the best time for sea travel. Dec-Feb It's the season cooler and dry
Language: the official language is the Filipino but spoken English, especially in tourist areas, a bit by all.

Population: 105 million
ATMs and credit cards: in medium-large cities and in tourist cities there are ATMs and shops that accept credit cards. It is different for smaller villages, they only accept cash
VISA: The entry process for a tourist trip to the Philippines for all European citizens is very simple and fast.
The tourist visa, internationally called - visa on arrival, is done directly at the airport of arrival, that is almost always in Manila. The visa is free and lasts 30 days.
The only two rules to be respected are:
1. the PASSPORT MUST have a minimum residual validity of 6 months upon arrival in the country
2. from 2017, an electronic passport is required

Religion: most of the population is Christian
Driving License: International driving license
Mandatory Vaccines: none in particular, in any case, we advise you to take a travel insurance
Electrical sockets: In the Philippines, the power sockets are two-pronged, therefore the same as in Europe, but it is advisable to bring a travel adapter!
Means Of Transport: The jeepney - nicknamed "The king of the road" - is a collective taxi that derives from military jeeps, extended in length with two parallel benches, where up to 15 passengers.
The ticket is paid directly to the driver, when you want to stop, remember to say "para" (stop).
An alternative to the jeepney is the tricycle, a bike that allows you to maneuver better in traffic. Next to the driver, there is a space designed for a couple of people.
